Xavier and solid food - 6th month

We have started feeding him Cerelac on daily basis. The babysitter has been giving him few spoons of Cerelac in 3 feeding time. There are sounds of protests from the little man but so far so good.

Updates on Xavier - 5 month

To start off this update, I have to mention that he is getting heavier for mommy and daddy to carry around. Doctor Reem (his pediatrician) said his weight of 8.2 kg is normal and healthy for his age. However, Mommy is getting back pain!

He can now roll to his side but not on his tummy. He knows us both now. To him, play time is with daddy and sleeping time is best with mommy. He sleeps through the night and wakes up at 5.30am the earliest. Normally he would wake up at 7am.

Teething should start soon. Just today he was practicing his biting ability with daddy's finger. We have bought him 2 teething rings a couple of months back. He is starting to wake up middle of the night and cry for few minutes and sleep again, I suspect he could be irritated by his gum.

He is more alert now and looks around with interest. His favourite song could be Burung Kakak Tua as he sings together with me whenever I sing it (the original slow version, not the rap version). He does not want to be left alone in a room for more than 5 minutes. He wants to be played with and talked to. His favourite games at the moment is peek a boo and catch me if you can.

For now, he loves Barney and all other shows with dancing and singing. Not a fan of Tom and Jerry.

End of report :-)

More kicking..

At 33 weeks, the kickings and movement inside is becoming more evident now. Sometimes it is even painful, especially when it hits the ribs or lower abdomen. Sleep is getting lesser and replaced with more and more backaches. I fall asleep everywhere instead, for example, on the sofa, on the floor while leaning to the sofa and definitely a short nap in the car on the way to work. The bathroom is my favourite transit and I feel blessed that nearly everywhere in UAE, the restrooms are decently clean.

Oh wait, is that a mini contraction I feel? Breathe.. breathe.... breathe!

32 Weeks!

Finally after 2 weeks, we had our much awaited appointment with Dr Imad on Sunday 7th March. He's a very busy man!

At 32 weeks, I weighed 57.2kg and baby weighed at 2kg. Doctor mentioned that our baby has the size of 33 weeks. Dr Imad tried to get a 4D image of our baby but was unable to, not our luck. The next appointment is after two weeks and hopefully we can get a glimpse of him. If not, it is still okay.

My stomach now is bigger and attracting attention at work. My sweaters are looking smaller and my maternity pants looks shorter. The kicking and stretching is stronger and longer and visible through my clothes. Pain? Aches? Heck, yes!

Can't Sleep

It could be the room temperature, it could be the active movements of my baby, it could be the 'nature calling' in the middle of the night. More and more often now, it's my back aching that's making me awake all this time. I can't be at the same side position all night or I will be in immense pain when I really do need to wake up in the morning. So everyday around 3am to 5am I will be tossing, turning, moving pillows until I get my comfortable spot. While doing all these moving, my baby will also move. Poor baby. Perry sometimes can feel my movement and normally just hug me to make sure I don't move a lot. That hug work wonders but he would release me as my body temperature rises few minutes later. Then, more tossing and turning will continue!

January Updates

It's been a while since I last logged in. Many things have happened but I have very little time to log in and write about it.

Two prenatal checks have passed. Baby is a boy and doctor refused to change his mind :) Baby moved actively in the recent checks and growing healthy. Even when I am typing this, baby is moving and moving and moving.

I have prepared a checklist for baby's arrival and the emergency bag for my delivery day. I am coming to my 7th month, nervous and excited. Even if I am not counting the months, my friends are counting for me. Arriving my last trimester means baby is free to come at anytime. Gosh, so many things to buy and prepare.

Perry has been very supportive in handling the housework though cooking is still mine to handle. Can't move too much nowadays. I am getting bigger and heavier. It is also getting harder to get up in the morning and to be careful not to make sudden move.

This month I am crazy about soft breads and peanut butter. I could eat a lot during any meal and still have room for bread. I find it really funny :)

Next check up is mid February. Pray for us.
